He simply leaves all of his sentences fact based and pleasing to his audiences in order to make his goal in writing the article. The purpose behind writing the article was to not only bring awarness to the World Fire Knife Competition, but to sell tickets to it as well. The writer accomplsihed his goal by making Fire dancing sound like a phenomenal sport that the reader just had to see. After praising the competition, he skillfully listed the dates, times, and prices of each show. So all in all, the purpose was to sell tickets and increase attendance at the shows. The article appealed to pathos, especially of those in the Hawaiian culture.
